Cabin Fever

We always go to my parents cabin Memorial day weekend. Last year we couldn't go, because it was a week earlier, and we were waiting for our little Addalyn to greet the world. But, we made it this year! We came home on Sunday instead of Monday because we are leaving for Michigan on Wednesday night after work - so we needed a day at home to get the laundry done and unpack to repack before heading on the road after a short work week. :)

I'll let the pics do the talking of the fun times we had at the cabin!

OMG - how cute is Addalyn in her swimsuit. I bought this suit on clearance last year while I was on maternity leave and could hardly wait the year to put it on her. So worth the wait...ugh!

Traveling through Time

**Quick shout out to Sadie Lee who turns 1 today! I will always think of her/remember her birthday, because this was my due date with Addalyn last year (and Brooke's due date with Sadie)!! Happy Birthday Sadie!**

On Monday we had our 'major' ultrasound where we could've found out the sex of the baby, but we stood strong and did not find out!

The ultrasound went great - the baby was SQUIRMING around through the entire thing, but of course I couldn't feel it at all. I can't wait until I start feeling this baby kick me! I have felt a little movement, but not consistent yet, so I'm excited for that stage of the pregnancy to start. Once again the placenta is in the front (attached near my tummy) so my doctor says (and I agree) that it cushions the movement a little bit. :)

After the ultrasound was complete, the tech said that the baby was measuring about a week ahead of my due date. I asked if I'd get my date changed, and she responded (as well as the resident in my room) with a SUPER QUICK no. Well, okay then!

......but good old Dr. Marnach read the results in my appointment that followed and right away asked if I wanted to move my due date. Part of me was hesitant...only because I thought 10.20.10 was a pretty cool date. Not only because of the date when you look at it, but because it is my sister Shannon and her hubby's 10th anniversary, and also my aunt Nancy and one of my cousin's birthday -- so there are some pretty fun things in our family on 10.20 :)

But, I am super happy to have it moved because than if I DO go over, like I did with Addalyn, I'll be more likely to actually have the baby around my original due date, so that is good with me. I was sort of nervous that I'd be in the hospital for Addy's first Halloween where she'd be walking up to people and saying "trick or treat" and such - so I won't be missing out on that now!!

We walked out of the clinic, and Aaron said "It's like we just traveled through time a bit! Walked in at 18 weeks, walked out at 19 weeks" ---- so true!

Therefore, all of a sudden we are at 20 weeks today, and I am half way done. I find it ironic, I'm 20 weeks this time on 5/27, when a year ago on this very date, I was 40 weeks and PATIENTLY waiting to meet my first born. There is a bit of sentiment that comes over me when I think of that - I get a little teary-eyed when I realize in 1 week from today my baby will be ONE.

On a side note - who is not LOVING this weather we've been having around here in MN? It has been awesome all week. 90's earlier in the week, and 80's right now. Yeah, maybe it is a little too hot and humid, but I'd take that any day over the cold days of winter. I'm loving it - and I love dressing Addy in all her fun summer clothes :)

Oh yeah, and I love the ice cream that seems soooo appropriate on hot days like this. Really, I love it!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Aaron turned 33 on Sunday (5/23) -- it was a very good weekend. Aaron's cousin Dustin (our best man in our wedding) came to visit with his friend Kari, as well as Aaron's friend Kurt. We enjoyed hosting some good friends/family of ours. It is so awesome to have Dustin in town. He's the brother that Aaron never had, so wrapped up in one person is Aaron's cousin, brother, and best friend. We love ya Dust!

I love how Aaron humors me and lets me take his picture w/ his cake every year. Typically we are eating cake alone, but this year we got to share the cake with his mom & step dad -- and of course Addalyn! Dustin & Kari had gone to the Twins/Brewers game for the day and Kurt had already left to head back to Madison.

Brave Girl!

We got our carpet installed in our basement last week (pictures of the finished product to come soon!) - and we hadn't been downstairs checking out the new carpet for 5 minutes when Addy decided to bee-line it for the stairs...and conquer them with pretty much her first try. We couldn't keep her away from them that night, so I grabbed the camera!

Whoo hoo I made it!! She had turned around and gave us a very proud smile, but she was too fast and I didn't get a pic of it! You can tell here she is happy though!

And of course, the first thing we have to play with are SHOES!

Aaron has been working very hard on the basement, and I know he is SOOOO ready to be done for a while...he's done an awesome job down there and I'll post pics soon :)

Garage Sale!

This weekend my family (the Supalla side!) is hosting a garage sale where all proceeds will go to the ALS foundation. The ALS foundation helps families that have a loved one dealing with ALS (more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease). Most of you know that my aunt Jane was diagnosed with ALS in December of 2007 and sadly passed away in June of 2008 - this organization helped my family when Jane was battling ALS.

My family continues to support the efforts of the ALS foundation to fight Lou Gehrig's disease. If you aren't familiar with the disease, here is a link with some information: www.alsa.org - click on the tab titled "About ALS"

Eleven & Sixteen

ELEVEN

Addalyn is 11 months...last year about this time, I was VERY pregnant. I didn't know if I was having a son or a daughter. I was thinking that this was the month of my due date, and REALLY hoping that this was the month of my child's birthday. BUT, my baby girl wasn't quite ready to make an appearance, and therefore May went and June came. My little June Bug was well worth the wait though...most definitely!

There isn't much change to report from 10 to 11 months. She still only has her 2 bottom teeth. I've been saying for almost a month now that her top 2 teeth were going to come. And as Aaron says, one of these days I will be right! Really though, if you look at her gums you can see them just hanging out below the surface...so any day now she will have more teeth. Really!

Addy's new thing is to give kisses (my FAVORITE). Well, she REALLY gives her daddy a lot of kisses, but I'm starting to get more and more. Aaron is the one that taught her how to give kisses, so she was a little partial to only sharing kisses with daddy...but I'm getting to sneak some in every once in a while. And I LOVE that!

She also loves to get 'chased'. One day she came crawling at me full force with a huge grin on her face and I thought I was going to get some good snuggles...but right before she reached me, she dodged to one side and passed me...so I chased after her and it caused a fit of giggles! Now, she will get a big smile on her face and start crawling away super fast and hoping you follow. Sometimes she suddenly lays down on her tummy, because she actually wants you to catch her and give her kisses and tickles. So fun, and the giggles we get are THE BEST!

It is so crazy to think that next month we will already be celebrating her 1st birthday. Today I read the saying:

"No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep."

I agree with this quote, and I have read it many times before. Typically when I read that quote, I think of how true it is...and it tends to remind me of nights up late with friends when I was growing up, or the night after Aaron and I got engaged and we sat out on the porch of his cabin and talked about all the things in our future...or even nights when I couldn't sleep because I was troubled for one reason or another....

.

But today I read it, and the first thing I thought of was being a mother...and the nights right after Addy was born, when you are up in the middle of the night. Or the nights where Addy will randomly wake up and need some cuddles from me or her daddy and then go back to sleep. And, as Addalyn grows up, and I look back on her baby days...I'm sure those nights when I think I am the most important person in the world because my baby girl needs me, will be the ones that I remember the most. Funny how your views on life change as you move into different stages :)

SIXTEEN:

Wednesday marks 16 weeks for me :). I am at that stage in pregnancy where if you didn't know I was pregnant, you wouldn't be sure if I'm just adding on some weight...or having a baby (depending on what I wear). I love that stage of pregnancy - ha ha!!

Things have been going good - still feeling sick at times, some days worse than others. We have only had 2 appointments and will not have another one until the 24th...which will already be the big ultrasound! Mayo has changed their prenatal appt schedule for low risk pregnancies. They don't schedule as many at the beginning of the pregnancy as they used to. Which is good, the fact that I am considered low risk is of course a blessing. But, every once in a while I have the urge to listen to my baby's heart beat. Can't wait until the 24th!

P.S. - we don't have a clever name for this baby (like we called Addalyn Little Poppy) -- any suggestions????!!!!

I LOVE my Ravioli's -- eSpECiaLLy when mommy lets me feed myself! (which mommy only lets me do when we are at home...and she prefers it to be a bath night!!!)
